This is a sample itinerary only. Itinerary for the Ride Tasmania trip is subject to change depending on weather, trail conditions and guests’ ability and preferences.
Day 1 Launceston – Hollybank – Derby
We pick you up at 8.30am at Launceston airport where we assemble bikes and put them on our trailer to drive to 20 minutes to Hollybank Reserve. There are a number of mountain bike trails here for all levels and abilities. There is a 5 km green loop to warm up on and you can have plenty of fun and refine your techniques in the skills park. We will provide shuttles for those wanting to do multiple repeats of Juggernaut. After a couple of hours riding we drive our Derby accommodation and have the option of riding a few of the trails before dinner. (L)
Day 2 Derby
After breakfast we roll out the front door of our house in Derby and spend the day riding the Must-Ride Derby Trails. It’s a chance to see what everyone is raving about. With over 60km of trails there is something for everyone and so much to explore. Lunch is on the trails or your choice of cafes in Derby.
Day 3 Blue Tier
Today we get to discover the out-back trails of the Blue Tier.We will drive to the start of the Blue Tier. This is an amazing trail through myrtle forests and alpine creeks, in
cludes the downhill of Big Chook and finishes at the Weldborough Hotel. After lunch, we drive to the start of Atlas, riding into Derby where you have the option to ride more of the trails here.
Day 4 Derby
It’s our last day in Tassie so you get to choose where you ride today. After breakfast we will pack up and hit the trails. We can do Blue Tier shuttles or ride more of the Derby trails – it’s up to you. After a late lunch we will drive back to Launceston (maybe via Hollybank if it fits into the schedule) in time for you to catch your evening flight.
